Overnight or longer?

Our carers choose how long they can take care of a dog for and how often. It could be anything from a short overnight stay, to three weeks – the choice is yours! Whether you want to care for a dog on the odd weekend or week off work, or if you're retired and looking for some furry company on a more regular basis, our hours are completely flexible to your lifestyle. The school holidays are a particularly busy time for us, so if you're just available during these weeks, that would be fantastic and we'd still love to have you on board.

Caring For A Dog – How The Process Works

In order to provide a suitable and happy home for one of our dogs, you would be required to live in a secure and comfortable environment. It would be ideal if you have an enclosed garden too, but not essential.

To apply to become a 101 Friends carer, simply fill in your details on the contact us page or email lindathompson@101friends.com. You will be asked to provide three character references, which will be fully checked and verified. Then, we'll come to visit you in your home, view your property and have an informal chat about what you want from the experience. You will be able to tell us why you think you'd make a good carer.

Don't worry if you've only got a small property – we have a dog for everyone. When assigning dogs to carers we always try to match everyone's requirements. If you live in a small flat, you would be assigned a small dog which should be easier for you to board in a limited space. Each time you would like to board a dog, the dog and owner will come and meet you at your home first to make sure both parties are happy.

Throughout the process, 101 Friends For Every Dog-Clapham & Battersea will provide you with full support, instructions and guidance. We'll check in with you regularly to make sure you're still happy with everything and we're available to call 24 hours a day if anything goes awry. We're fully insured so you don't need to worry about covering any costs when it comes to your dog and of course, you receive a small fee for every day you care for one of our canine companions.

So, if you're a dog lover based in London and want to do something worthwhile with your spare time and enjoy all the benefits of having a pet to care for, without all the responsibilities, then get in touch with us today!
